Facts about Trout, Trout Fish are one of several game fish of the genus Salmo, same family as the salmon. "Scentific name for Cutthroat trout is Oncorhynchus clarkii", brown trout, rainbow trout, Brook trout, steelhead trout are five types of Trout Fish. There are also some types of sea trout.
Trout is the name that's shared by several fish species. Trout Fish are members of the salmon family. These trout species feed on mollusk, fry, spiders, crustaceans, tadpoles insects, insect larvae, smaller fish, worms, fly and many other types of live food.
Trout are smooth, with 8 to 12 spines in the anal fin and Trout Fish do not have teeth at the base of the tongue. The bottom of the trouts body are silvery with a pink-red stripe along the upper middle part of the body. The stripe will vary from dark to light depending on what region they live. The female brook trout will lay thousands of eggs at one time. They lay the eggs most often in cold water streams. The brook trout eggs are incubated through the winter months and they hatch in the spring.
