Facts about Kia K900 Car. The Kia K900 Car is a life-size sedan from manufactured by Kia Motors, the automaker in South Korea. The Kia K900 is a replacement sedan to the Kia Opirus sedan on the Korean automobile market, and it will be seated at the top of the Kia array on top of the Kia K7/Cadenza. The Kia 900 was launched in May 2012 in South Korea, with the expected export sales towards the end of the year 2012. Up to June 2013, the sedan is available in South Korea with the name, the Kia K900 Car, Colombia, the Middle East, Russia with the name, the Kia Quoris, Peru, Canada under the name the Kia K900 Car and in the United States. The manufacturer plans to introduce the sedan in China, but with the name other than Kia Quoris.
The Kia K900 Car is a derived version of the platform called BH-L (VI) shared by the Hyundai Genesis and Hyundai Equus. It is the first back-wheel drive car from Kia, with KH as its development code. The Kia K900 Car is somewhat shorter than the Hyundai Equus, but it has a more aggressive, athletic posture as well as an extended wheelbase with smaller front overhang measurements. The Tiger nose grill of Kia has been fixed in the sedan’s front fascia design. It introduces some innovative technologies to a KIA sedan like a Head Up Display, Blind spot assist, and a highly developed Adaptive Front Lighting System.
The Korean-introduced Kia K900 sedan is equipped with engines, such as a V6, 3.3-liter, 296 HP (300 PS) engine and a V6, 3.8-liter 329 HP (334 PS) GDI direction-injection engine. These engines are mated to an eight-paced mechanical transmission. The Kia Quoris, which was introduced in 2013 in Russia is equipped with a V6, 3.8-liter 290 HP (294 PS) engine.
The American-launched Kia K900 Car uses a V8, 5.0-liter GDI, 420-HP engine, which is capable of producing a maximum torque of 376 lbs per foot (510 Nm), whereas the sedan that was introduced in Canada is equipped with either a V6, 3.8-liter 311 HP (315 PS), GDI engine producing a maximum torque of 293 lbs per foot (397 Nm) or the similar V8, 5.0-liter GDI engine as the United States automobile market.
The Kia K900 was previewed during 2011 with the public demonstrating the Kia GT concept sedan at the Motor Show in Frankfurt. As with the Kia K900, the Kia GT is a 4-door, back-wheel-drive car, but it is equipped with suicide doors and a V6, turbocharged, 3.3-liter engine, which is capable of producing a maximum power of 390 HP (395 PS).
To promote the Kia K900, the manufacturer introduced the company’s commercial vehicle called the Super Bowl XLVIII. This vehicle features Laurence Fishburne, an actor from America, reprising his job as Morpheus from The Matrix sequence. The Kia K900 luxury ambassador was named after the basketball player, LeBron James on October 2014.
In spite of the aggressive marketing of the Kia K900, the sedan has struggled in its sales, having marketed 200 units only per month during its initial four months in the United States automobile market. Sales of the Kia K900 further decreased during July and August 2014 between 100 and 130 units, and then during September and October 2014 the sales reduced to 50 to 60 vehicles.
