Grey's Anatomy is a 226-episode, 11-season medical drama TV series from America that premiered as a mid-season substitute on the American Broadcasting Company on the 27th of March 2005. The title of Gray's Anatomy TV show is an adaptation of an English-lingo human anatomy book, written by Henry Gray, a renowned English surgeon and anatomist. The premise of the TV show is originated with Shonda Rhimes, who is an executive producer of the show, together with Mark Gordon, Betsy Beers, Krista Vernoff, Mark Wilding, Rob Corn, and Allan Heinberg. The TV series was developed to be ethnically diverse, using a color-blind casting method. Though the TV show is filmed in Seattle, it is chiefly set in Los Angeles in California.
Theme of the TV show
The TV series has aired 11 seasons, and centers on the imaginary lives of surgical residents and interns as they slowly evolve into experienced physicians, at the same time as trying to keep up personal relationships and lives.
The protagonist of the TV series is Dr. Meredith Grey, an imaginary character, played by Ellen Pompeo, an American producer and actress, who at first accepted into the citizenship program at the imaginary Seattle Grace Hospital. Dr. Meredith is allocated to effort under the control of Dr. Miranda Bailey, an imaginary character, played by Chandra Wilson, an American actress, together with Dr. George O'Malley, Dr. Cristina Yang, and Dr. Alex Karev and Dr. Izzie Stevens, the fictional characters played by renowned celebrities Sandra Oh, T. R. Knight, Katherine Heigl, and Justin Chambers respectively. Following the death of O'Malley's and the departure of Stevens, the merger of the hospital with Mercy West introduces Dr. Jackson Avery, played by Jesse Williams, an American model and actor, and Dr. April Kepner, played by Sarah Drew, an actress from America, in the 6th season.
Response of the TV show
The Grey's Anatomy TV show is the maximum-rated play in the key 18 to 49 demographic. Though the rankings have descended during the past few seasons, the TV show occupied a position in the list of the overall leading-ten rated TV shows in the United States. The Grey's Anatomy TV show has been well acknowledged by critics. It is considered an impact on the society, and it has grabbed many awards, and has also been incorporated in the top ten lists of various critics. The TV show has created several specials, including the distribution of all seasons to DVD, and released a compilation of merchandise. The TV show was named the fifth-uppermost revenue earning show in 2012, in terms of publicity for each half-hour. The TV series was renewed on the 10th of May 2013 for a tenth season that premiered on the 26th of September 2013 through a two-hour episode. ABC improved the TV series on the 8th of May 2014 for the 11th season, which will broadcast from 2014–2015.
