Custom Ithaca 1911
Category: Hand Guns
About about Custom Ithaca 1911 Gun and some Facts, Custom Ithaca 1911 Gun is a full-size custom pistol, manufactured by an Ohio-based gun manufacturing business called the Ithaca Gun Company. This is a .45 auto caliber pistol, exclusively manufactured for the United States armed forces during the Second World War. While the United States found itself involved in the Second World War, the federal government reacted by issuing contracts to some companies to produce the Model 1911 pistol, including the Ithaca Gun Company. Actually, the business was established in 1883 and considerably pre-dated the plan and implementation of the Model 1911 revolver. Additionally, although the business was a maker of sport shotguns rather than armed forces handguns, they were distinctive among the numerous additional 1911 suppliers employed by the United States in that they were the only business in the middle of the new companies with any practice whatsoever manufacturing guns. An appealing historical addendum is that Ithaca had its personal relationship with John M. Browning, who was the designer of the Custom Ithaca 1911 pistol to manufacture the gun.
Design of the Custom Ithaca 1911 Gun
The new Custom Ithaca 1911 Gun is a .45 automatic caliber pistol, with the unit length of 8.63 inches, and a breadth of 1.31 inches. The pistol has a height of 5.63 inches with magazines, whereas without magazines, it has a height of 5.19 inches. The pistol was designed with the barrel length of 5 inches, with a sight radius of 6.5 inches. The gun was designed with a weight of 40 pounds, with a magazine capacity of 8 rounds. The grip of the pistol has a Walnut half-checkered, with a blued finish.
The Custom Ithaca 1911 Gun was designed by expert craftsmen, exploiting custom touches and flourishes that are generally found on full-custom guns only. Outstandingly, all the checkering is well-incised, but then they took the extra effort of barely flattening the tilts of the pyramids, removing the “cheese grater†effect. The flattened checkering design of the pistol offers a safe grip to users where it is required, but does not flay the skin from your hand while cleaning or while shooting the pistol. Additionally, an unbelievable amount of surfaces on this gun are jeweled. This comprises the full-length guide rod and the barrel, the entire side surfaces of both magazines and the flats of the hammer.
