The Connemara pony was first employed by local laborers and farmers to pull massive creels or cases of rock from the grasslands and seaweed from the coast to be employed as fertilizer. Usually, the mature Connemara pony is capable of attaining a height that ranges from 51.2 inches to 59.2 inches (128 cm to 148 cm), with a sturdy back, loins and back quarters.
