Facts about Pontiac Firebird Automobile. The Pontiac Firebird Car is a vehicle that was constructed by the General Motors’ Pontiac division between the years 1967 and 2002. The vehicle was launched the same year as the platform-sharing mock-up of the automaker, the Chevrolet Camaro, was introduced. This overlapped with the introduction of the Mercury Cougar in 1967 that shared its platform with another pony vehicle, the Ford Mustang.
History of The Pontiac Firebird Car
The first generation of Pontiac Firebird started production from 1967 and ended in 1969. During this period, the vehicle had a distinctive Coke bottle styling, and its bumpers were incorporated into the front end design and its back slit taillights were stimulated by the Pontiac GTO. The styling variation from the 1967 to the 1968 model car was the accumulation of federally mandated side indicator lights, such as for the front of the vehicle, the turn indicators were made bigger and extended to cover around the front edges of the vehicle, and on the back, the V-shaped Pontiac Arrowhead badge was affixed to each side.
